Lepus

LIGHT GREY ART LAB, COSMOS

Piece for the show Cosmos at Light Grey Art Lab in Minneapolis. Each artist chose a different constellation and created a piece revisiting the mythology and metaphors of their astral body.  The art was used to create a tarot card and oracle deck, with cards for each of the constellations and astral bodies.

This piece is of the constellation Lepus, or the Hare. Hare's represent swiftness, agility, and naivety. Lepus is often associated with the myth of Orion. since his hunting dogs pursue Lepus across the night sky in an endless chase. 

In a reading, this card represents the end of innocence and an introduction to the realities of the world. It may manifest itself through personal trials, coming of age experiences, or in an elusive truth being revealed at last.
